The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem by preventing cancer, saving lives and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy and service.
Since 1946, American Cancer Society invested $3 billion dollars in cancer research, more than $100 million annually and more than $35 million dollars granted to Texas institutions such as the MD Anderson Cancer Center, Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital while funding more cancer research than any other non-profit organization. We also funded 42 Nobel Prize Laureates.
